The aim was to involve younger pupils with project ideas. A traveling bear helped children to “cross the borders”. Boris visited pupils’ houses in the Netherlands, France, Britain and Poland. The observation and experience of the bear were written down by the pupils in a special diary. The pupils wrote in their own language about things that Boris saw and learned. Very often the pictures and drawings were added. The teachers translated these notes into English. After two years the diary became a rich source of pupils’ plays, homes and family customs of the four countries.
